At Staf, we are committed to promoting peer-to-peer support, networking and coordination between our members. We actively provide opportunities to share good practice, discuss challenges and opportunities, and develop shared learning.
We do this by facilitating member events across the country, including:
Managers’ Forums: These workshops are aimed at operational and strategic managers from services working with young people from a care experienced background. These events give managers the chance to share good practice, learn from what has worked in the past and to be informed about the latest policy changes.
Practitioners’ Gatherings: These workshops are aimed at front-line practitioners working with young people from a care experienced background. These events give practitioners the chance to share best practice, learn from what has worked in the past and to be informed about the latest changes in policy.
Focus Groups: Staf’s focus groups are a key element of our work. They allow us to bring together representatives from across the country and sectors to address specific issues of shared interest with the aim of supporting and developing good practice. Focus groups are free to attend for members who have a Team or Corporate membership with Staf. We are currently running three focus groups.
Our focus groups fall within two areas. For more information, please click the group’s name below.
Summer Conference: Our annual Summer Conference is a chance for people from across the sector to come together from all over Scotland to spend a day focusing on the big issues, sharing practice and learning from each other.
In addition to these events, we also pro-actively connect members for advice and information. This includes requests from members for good practice sharing and support, the dissemination of new and relevant opportunities and resources, and connecting members to create greater influence.
