What is the participation practitioners' forum?
The participation practitioners' forum is a free bi-monthly event for participation workers supporting young people with care and justice experience to connect with, and learn from, each other: sharing successes, reflecting on challenges, and championing examples of best practice in an informal setting.

The forum was set up in response to restrictions on physical meetings and gatherings - as those delivering participation work across the country have had to rapidly and creatively adapt their approach, and we have been connecting with monthly Zoom calls.

The forum has a particular focus on engaging workers that support care-experienced young people in the justice system, and on utilising digital tools to creatively support young people.

Who facilitates the forum?
The forum is facilitated by Youth Justice Participation Worker, Ruth Kerracher, who work across both Staf and The Centre for Youth & Criminal Justice (CYCJ) on the 'Youth Justice Voices' project - a key aim of which is to improve participation opportunities for care and justice-experienced young people.

When is this next meeting of the forum?
The next meeting of the practitioner’s forum will take place via Zoom on Thursday 22nd October from 11.00am – 12.30pm
