Just one relationship can make the difference
Staf, the Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum, celebrates its 20th birthday this year, 2018. It is a membership organisation that was established in response to concerns that frontline practitioners shared about the major difficulties care leavers experienced during their fragile transition to adulthood and independent living. Today, 20 years later, we continue to work with our members and other local partners to share and raise issues and solutions facing this vulnerable group of young people.
We are the only membership organisation in Scotland working across, and including in our membership, 32 local authorities and 40 voluntary sector and independent organisations. These include service providers, commissioners, Corporate Parents, regulators, educators and young care-experienced people.
At the heart of all of our work is the voice of care-experienced young people and those who work closely with them. We aim to support them through our work in policy influence, sharing best practice, networking and collaboration and learning and development.
