Staf, (the Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum) is the only national membership organisation in Scotland working with care experienced young people and the professionals who support them, with the vision of creating a country where the wellbeing and success of young people leaving care is indistinguishable from that of their peers in the general population.

Our current Board of Directors has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sector, and bring passion and commitment to supporting Staf in making our vision a reality. We are now looking for someone with financial qualification/expertise, ideally from charity finance background, to bring the additional skillset and experience to the Board to achieve our strategic ambitions.  Responsibilities will include areas such as:

1. Reporting to the Board of Directors on financial matters.
2. Providing support in appraising the viability of plans, proposals and feasibility studies.
3. Playing a role in signing off Annual Accounts on behalf of the Board.
4. Being a member of the Finance and HR Sub Group & liaise with Staf’s Finance Officer on reporting management information.
5. Ensuring the Board's financial policies are being followed and banking arrangements in place.
6. Providing support to the CEO, Operations Manager and Finance Officer in budget preparation as and when required.
7. Playing a role in signing off Annual Accounts on behalf of the Board.

Please note that this position is non-remunerative and asks for a commitment of approximately one day per month including four full Board meetings per year, involvement in our Finance & HR Sub Group and Board Development and Strategy sessions.
