David has worked in a wide range of social work and social care roles. He gained his DipSW from University of Strathclyde in 1994, and worked as a Children and Families social worker before moving into the voluntary sector. He then completed the 'Leading to Deliver' programme in 2006, gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Social Services Leadership.

David is currently responsible for the management and development of services in South Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders at Aberlour Child Care Trust. He also represents CCPS and ETCS on the Strategic Commissioning Project Board (Doran), and represents Aberlour Child Care Trust on a national group considering the assessment and support needs of parents with learning disabilities.

David's advisory role on the Board is to support and line manage the CEO.

  • Representing Aberlour on a national group looking at the implementation of recommendations from the 'Supporting Parents with Learning Disabilities in Scotland - Challenges and Opportunities' Report
