Jo has worked within Children's Services, with a particular focus on fostering, for the past 17 years with leadership roles encompassing Registered Manager, Agency Decision Maker and Managing Director. Additionally, with 10 years' experience as a foster carer, Jo brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to the role of Staf CEO. 

Having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Protection and Welfare in 2017, Jo is currently committed to completing an MBA with a Specialism in Leadership Studies, alongside her Independent work and voluntary roles with Children in Scotland, The Law Society for Scotland, and International Foster Care Organisation.

In addition, Jo also has the following roles:  

• Member of the Social Work Scotland Children and Families Standing Committee
• Vice-Chair of the Corporate Parenting sub-group (reports to the above standing committee)
• Vice President International Foster Care Organisation (IFCO)
• Vice-chair of the IFCO Training & Development sub-committee
• Chair of the IFCO sub-committee for Policies and Procedures
• Chair of the IFCO Youth sub-committee
• Vice Convenor for Children in Scotland
• Member of the sub-committee for Family Law for the Law Society of Scotland
• Board Member of Children's Hearing Scotland
