On the 23rd of April the 4th meeting took place and it was the second meeting to take place online.

We decided to take the meeting to the sea side and we all enjoyed a lovely discussion with a breeze in our hair and the sun on our skin.

Changes due to COVID-19

It has been 4 weeks since the lockdown in the UK so the members of the group had some time to adapt and to adjust. We took the time to discuss the changes due to the lockdown.

Many said that while the beginning was difficult, things have started to settle a bit. It was great to hear that for many the support has actually looked better, with more frequent phone calls and check-ins.

We spoke again about what organisations can do to create environments that enable relationships. A few members mentioned that some of the ways of working that we learnt during the lockdown should continue. Especially, how frequently people have been in contact with each other and how person-centred support has been.

However, there is a great amount of anxiety and stress among people and we discussed how important it is that people continue to be connected to others.

Do you have an interesting thought you’d want to share about promoting relationships during COVID? Get in touch and enquire how you can get involved remotely. (email Papoula via [email protected])

What’s next?

The next meeting is on the 21st of May and will take place on Zoom. Zoom is an online platform where you can do group video calls. Instructions for Zoom will be send via email closer to the date. The meeting will start at 3 pm and last until 4:30 pm.

We will talk about:

  1. What do you want the resource to look like? (Let’s talk about Designs)
  2. Summary of discussions so far
  3. What needs to be added?
