We are delighted to share some exciting news about how we are working in partnership with the Open University to develop a new trauma-informed and relationship-based practice online course!

The course will be hosted on the OU Open Learn Create platform and it will be co-produced by Staf, the OU, East Lothian Council, Life Changes Trust legacy partners: Each & Every Child and Resilience Learning Partnership and people with care/lived experience.

The new online course will include content and work (with consent to share externally) from the Life Changes Trust (LCT) legacy and non-legacy projects, that has been entrusted to Staf – this will ensure the continued application and use of evidence and learning the Young People, with the Care Experience Programme, has gathered over the last 9 years.

There will also be other relevant resources used for the course content. Feedback from the LCT projects and Staf’s forum (attended by Staf members) and Staf’s focus groups (for people with care-experience) have highlighted a need for this course. The new course will be for anyone who would like to learn more about trauma and how it can impact on lives, and how to build and improve relationships with people they may live with, have regular contact with or support.

The course will be at an introductory level and will be free to access. Further updates will be provided in due course. If you would like more information or would like to have a chat about how you can get involved, please contact [email protected]
