“Children don't want to wait until 2020 for things to change. Their timeframes are not review timeframes, there is an urgency about this.” (Fiona Duncan, Chair of the Indpendent Review of Scotland's Care System)

The Independent Review of Scotland's Care system is calling for immediate action to be taken which will reduce the chances of children and young people in care being bullied for being different from their classmates.

The Review has found that professionals should use clearer language that makes sense to children to reduce the chance of them being singled out. It has also found that children are singled out because they are removed from classes to attend meetings, missing out on some of the education that their peers receive, and because social workers leave their council badges on when they go to schools.
