Reflective Supervision Residentials – Supporting Throughcare and Aftercare Teams

To support care experienced people effectively, it is essential that the workforce has the skills and resources they need. As part of Staf’s Supportive Workforce project, we are offering Reflective Supervision Residentials across Scotland to help develop a new supervision framework for Throughcare and Aftercare teams.

Why attend a Reflective Supervision Residential?

The residentials provide an opportunity to:

  • Understand supervision more deeply: Explore what supervision should involve and how it can be tailored to support your team effectively.
  • Learn reflective supervision skills: Acquire practical tools for reflective supervision to create a productive, supportive environment.
  • Connect with peers: Meet others in your field to share experiences, insights and challenges, in a setting designed to encourage open conversation and collaboration.
  • A focused learning environment: These residentials offer a chance to step back from daily routines and focus on learning in a calm, supportive environment.

“It was definitely worth the time. Being able to come together in the evening to discuss more over a meal was great for networking, supporting each other, and sharing experiences.”

Join us in 2025

Following the success of our 2024 residentials in Aberdeen, Stirling, and Kilmarnock—which received overwhelmingly positive feedback for their practical tools and valuable networking opportunities—we’ve expanded our programme in 2025. This year, we’ve already hosted residentials in Dundee, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, and due to high demand, we’ve now added two additional dates to ensure more participants can benefit from the experience.

Spaces are limited, so don’t miss your chance to join. Book your place for one of our upcoming dates.

  • Glasgow – 27th – 29th May 2025 | Malmaison Glasgow
  • Edinburgh – 3rd – 5th June 2025 | Malmaison Edinburgh (Leith)

“A lovely learning retreat.”

This initiative is funded by The Promise Partnership as part of Staf’s Supportive Workforce project. Together, we aim to strengthen the workforce and better support care experienced young people.

We look forward to collaborating with teams across Scotland as we shape the future of supervision for Throughcare and Aftercare.

Recall Days

As we wrap up the residentials, we're offering a final recall day to bring together participants from the May/June residentials. Previous cohorts have found these sessions a valuable opportunity to build on their learning and further explore how this can translate into practice within their teams. We will send out separate details about this.

If you have any questions or need further information about residentials, please email [email protected].
