A message from The Catalysts...

Hello to everyone that is reading this.

We, The Catalysts (the group behind Project Return), are writing this update to inform the care community of the importance of pet love and why having a pet is really important.

We have created a survey that we would appreciate if you could pass on and fill in yourself. As this topic is really passionate to us and we’d like to understand the dynamics and peoples experiences of having a pet in the care system and social housing. Your response will help us to reflect and create change.

Thank you for your time.

Best Wishes,

The Catalysts

Why have we made the Pets in Care survey?

We have created a survey so we can undertaking national research into the care communities’ experience of pets in their homes.

We believe that pets provide great therapeutic companions to those in care and care leavers and so want to open up conversations so this can be enabled to happen across Scotland.

What will happen with the views you give us?

The information you give us will be collated and pulled together. And from this call to actions will be made and support given to make real cultural, political and systematic change.

How can you take part? And is there a prize?

If you’d like your voice and experience to be heard in the survey then click on the image below, the cute little pup will take you to the survey. And yes there will be a £15 amazon voucher up for grabs which the winner shall be selected at random.

Who is the survey for?

The group have designed the survey so we can start and continue conversations on the support given to have pets in care so we want to hear from a range of perspectives:

  • People with care experience (please see picture)
  • Care leavers
  • Care leavers with experience of the criminal justice system
  • A carer/worker/family member who has supported people with care experience
  • An organisation who works to support people with care experience

We also want to hear the views of Corporate Parents, so if you're an Member of the Scottish Parliament or local authority Councillor then this survey is for you too.

Take the survey today using the form below.
