Abbi is an experienced social work leader, consultant and educator with around 30 years’ experience across children’s and adult services in Scotland. She has been a foster carer, and worked for many years in secure care and residential childcare. Abbi has extensive experience in quality improvement, service redesign, safeguarding and workforce development, and is a qualified business coach. She has served as an Interim Chief Executive, leading organisational change within the third sector.

Abbi also is an active Practice Educator, and the author of two textbooks on decision-making in social work and residential childcare. Her career reflects a longstanding commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people, adults and families across Scotland. In her spare time, she enjoys delivering complimentary therapies.

Abbi believes every young person should have the support, stability, opportunities and relationships needed to set them up for success in adulthood. She is keen to contribute to Staf’s work in achieving this.
